2012 Battle of New Orleans
Jan 16th, 2012 | By William Dilella | Category: News, Top StoryChalmette High School students Travis Andry, Mary Maggiore, Amanda Stedman and Kameron Rome all played their parts in the January 7 commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. The players were part of the Tennessee militia and volunteers who participated in defending the camp, and kept it functioning.
Evan Hughes and Rhett Tate, both of Kentucky, sitting by the fire next to Elista Ister of Lafayette, were tapped to participate as members of the Choctaw tribe.

James Melancon of Violet, Tim Strain of Chalmette and Bruce Gallet of Orange, TX participated as militia members of Planche’s Battalion.
