Andrew Jackson Soccer Team celebrates season
Feb 10th, 2011 | By Terri Sercovich | Category: Sports
The new Andrew Jackson Soccer Team had a great first season. Led by eighth grade captains Juan Esparza and Joshua Quintana, the soccer team went 5-2-1 in the regular season and made it to Metro League Middle School playoffs. There, the Colonels beat both Metairie Country Day School and Holy Cross in overtime shootouts to advance to the Blue Division Championship game against Newman. While the Colonels put up a valiant stand, they ultimately lost to Newman and took 2nd place in the Metro Division. Congratulations to all the players, parents, and teachers who helped make a new sport at a new school such a success.
