Chalmette Refining donates $20,500 to Nunez College
Dec 5th, 2011 | By William Dilella | Category: NewsRecently, Chalmette Refining and the ExxonMobil Foundation gave $ 20,500 toward the Nunez Community College Process Technology Program. This donation will provide funds for purchasing books and training equipment.
Process Technology (P-Tech) is a two year course that is designed to provide industry with qualified process technician candidates. When students finish with an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Technology/ Process Technology, they can apply for jobs at petrochemical refineries, processing plants, and manufacturing facilities, just to name a few.
The P-Tech program at Nunez Community College had its first semester in August 2005, one week before Hurricane Katrina wiped out the entire program. The re-start of classes began in January 2006.
