Council sells adjudicated property to LLCAug 26th, 2013 | By Candace Griffin | Category: News
The Council authorized the sale of surplus property— 554 Lebeau Avenue in Arabi —to Delta Investments #3, LLC. for the price of $1,000. For quite some time now, the Parish has been selling adjudicated properties to adjacent landowners for the price of $1,000 and at least 1 year of maintaining the property.
Delta Investments #3 applied to buy this land once before, but was denied by the council in a split decision. Councilman Guy McInnis said the program was intended for individual property owners, not businesses. Councilman Casey Hunnicutt said he wanted to verify that the company was actually doing the upkeep.
The change of heart came when David Jarrol spoke at Tuesday’s meeting. He actually lives on the Delta Investments #3 property. This information made the transaction acceptable to the council.
