Fourth grade students at Joseph Davies Elementary School celebrated Constituition Day on September 17 with a special guest visitor. Attorney, Spencer Gulden, visited the school to discuss this important document with the students. Constitution
Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution by 39 brave men on September 17, 1787.
Gulden shared President Barack Obama’s Proclamation of Constitution Day, CitizenshipDay, and Constitution Week and discussed the importance and relevance ofthis document, written over 200 years ago.
After their discussion, Gulden asked the students trivia questions about the constitution and our nation’s government and the students earned prizes for correct answers. It
was clear from their enthusiasm, the students’ knowledge of the constitution and the government was deepened as they engaged in a real life conversation with a person who’s job revolves around the constitution and our government’s founding principles.
