The Chamber of Commerce luncheon for the month of July was held at the Entergy Building on Liberaux Drive in Chalmette. Presenting at the meeting were Entergy customer service manager Molly Buckley and Chalmette Service Center supervisor Glenn Jallans. They showed off the updated facility, while informing the local businesses of Entergy’s new initiatives, such as the online functions that will allow business owners, and residents alike, to monitor outages on a street by street level, calculate projected costs and expenditures, and preprogram spending warnings—for when the user’s bill is about to exceed a certain limit.

For the Chamber’s own updates, Jodie Lohfink, connected with the Chamber through Regions Bank, announced the chamber board had dissolved the previous executive director position, as the Chamber of Commerce begins taking what Board Member and 2011 Chamber President Sam Catalanotto called, “a new direction.”
