The Parish Council presented Anthony “Tony” Fernandez with a proclamation declaring him as an Honored Citizen. Fernandez is a lifetime resident and longtime practicing attorney in St. Bernard Parish.
He served as the Sheriff Department’s Chief Criminal Deputy Sheriff for 20 years and currently serves as the coordinator for the Parish’s annual Santa on the Bayou Christmas Celebration.
Fernandez also presented the Council with a photograph taken at the last Santa on the Bayou event.
“I know you’re supposed to be presenting something to me,” said Fernandez. “But I have something for you as well. I just want to thank the Council for everything you’ve done.”
