Opening of Studio Arabi was celebrated last week with an open house of artists, local residents and many curiosity seekers in the 6600-6700 blocks of Saint Claude Avenue in Arabi. The area has been state-certified as a Cultural District.

The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East (SLFPA-E), which sets policy and provides oversight to levee operations in East Jefferson, St. Bernard Parish, and all of the east bank of New Orleans, recently met for its regular monthly meeting at the St. Bernard Parish Government Complex.

 

Parish President Guy McInnis and Homeland Security Director John Rahaim recently met with employees who are identified as essential personnel of St. Bernard Parish Government. Employees were given the policy and their roles in the event of a hurricane or other emergency. Also addressed were training requirements for essential personnel.
