Students from across the region gathered on the Docville Farm last week to get a glimpse of what agriculture in Louisiana looks like. Volunteers guided students through a tour of exhibits explaining the concepts behind everything from farming rice and crawfish to handling livestock.

Over 3,000 people attended Sheriff Pohlmann’s Crawfish Cook-off at the start of his campaign last weekend. This is one of the largest crowds ever at the Isleños Complex.

Numerous St. Bernard residents attended a benefit on Sunday, May 17 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chalmette to help Kylie Gritter, 10, of Arabi, daughter of Kim and Joey Gritter. Pictured above are some attendees of Sunday’s special event.
