Logan Chaplain
Logan Chaplain and Greg Gabb, recent graduates of Chalmette High School, were named as this year’s Voices Scholarship recipients. Each year, the Voices Foundation, a local, nonprofit organization, awards scholarships to students who have shown continued public interest in the arts and are seeking attendance at a college in art, music, drama or culinary arts.
Logan will attend Southeastern University while Greg will enroll at Loyola University. Both plan to study music and pursue a career in the industry.
Voices Board member Katherine Lemoine said that each year the Foundation gets a bevy of applications, but these two stood out.
“Not only are both of these young man incredibly talented, but they are also committed to the community,” said Lemoine. “We are proud to recognize their talents in this way.”
Each received a one-time $500 scholarship and a certificate of recognition.
Lemoine said that as the scholarship program grows so too will the awards.
“We are a small, arts organization that is committed to nurturing young artists,” Lemoine said. “We look forward to developing the next generation of talent.
