Irish Italian Islenos Parade Sunday

The 13th annual Irish Italian Islenos parade will roll Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. through St. Bernard Parish. The parade will feature over 30 marching bands and groups, and more than 300,000 pounds of cabbage, potatoes, carrots, onions, lemons, limes and other fruit that will be tossed over the 46 Blaine Kern floats. St. Bernard’s first female judge, Jeanne Nunez Juneau and her husband, Timmy Juneau, will reign as this year’s Queen and King. Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter is the parade’s grand marshal. The Juneaus have been married 17 years and have two children, Ashlyn, 11, and Braden, 8, who will serve as maid and duke.
