Knights of Nemesis Parade to Roll _rough Chalmette on February 3

The Knights of Nemesis 18th Anniversary Parade is scheduled to hit the streets of St. Bernard Parish on Saturday, February 3 at 1 p.m. This year’s parade will feature 18 floats with 24 marching units and 300 riders. Riders will be throwing a special parade T-Shirt, Medallion Beads, Cups and other novelty items.

School Board Elects 2024 President and Vice-President

At its most recent board meeting, the St. Bernard Parish School Board held elections for president and vice president for the 2024 calendar year. Diana Dysart, who represents district 7, was unanimously elected as board president while Katherine Lemoine, the district 1 representative, was elected vice-president.

Coastal Restoration Project that Benets St. Bernard Allocated $4.3 Million

A coastal restoration project that will provide bene_ts and additional protection for ST. Bernard Parish was recently announced to have received $4.3 million from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) working through the Coastal Wetlands Planning Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA). Announced on January 25, this funding will be used for the engineering and design phase of the South Delacroix Marsh Creation Project.

Retired Teachers Donate Supplies to Arabi Elementary

_e St. Bernard Retired Teachers/School Employees Association (SBRTA) delivered schools supplies to two elementary schools in St. Bernard Parish. Over $800 in school supplies was collected throughout the year with retired school teachers and support persons at their quarterly meetings. _e supplies included everything from crayons and scissors to notebooks, paper and books. _e organization leadership team delivered the items to Arabi Elementary School on Friday, January 19, 2024. Principal Carla Carollo and several students were on hand to accept the donation.

Remember when your congressman would hold a $25 a person picnic fundraiser in their district with hundreds of people showing up? _ose days are long gone.
