St. Bernard Parish residents with Special Needs are eligible for assistance in evacuating should a mandatory evacuation be called, either due to a hurricane or another type of emergency which might arise in the parish. Parish President Guy McInnis urges those who need help evacuating to register with the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness by calling 504.278.4268. We will send you the necessary forms which must be completed and returned to the office.

On Wednesday, July 12, St. Bernard Parish Government’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in conjunction with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office and state and federal agencies conducted a test run on an emergency evacuation with the start of the Atlantic storm season.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Mandeville man for alleged charter guide violations in Plaquemines Parish on July 16. Agents cited Rene Luminais, 37, for failing to have an LDWF charter guide license and failing to possess a charter recreational offshore landing permit (ROLP).
