Nunez employees honored by LCTS

Nunez Staff Honored during the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) annual conference in Baton Rouge are shown, left to right: LCTCS President Dr. Joe D. Three current employees and one retired employee from Nunez Community College were recognized during the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) annual conference held recently in Baton Rouge. Each year the LCTCS honors faculty and staff members from the system’s 16 colleges who go above and beyond their job descriptions to meet the challenges the schools face on a daily basis to ensure that the 70,000 plus students served by the system receive the best educational and workforce training opportunities available.

Tonia Loria was honored as outstanding faculty member. She is an associate professor of Teaching, and Care and Development of Young Children. She has worked at Nunez for 10 years.

Clara Johnson has worked as a custodian at Nunez for six years and was recognized as the outstanding professional support staff.

Irma Beltram, records coordinator, was honored as outstanding professional staff. She has been with Nunez 19 years and started as a student worker.

Sydney J. Dobson was honored as distinguished retiree. He recently retired after 32 years with the system and was the college’s director of facilities.
