Joseph M. Crifasi, a native and lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the age of 92. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lee Crifasi, sons Frank J. Crifasi (Georgia), and Robert J. Crifasi (Peggy), grandsons Joseph, Rod, and Frank Crifasi, and nephew Wallace Rodrigue. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Crifasi and Marie Favalora Crifasi, as well as his siblings Sam, Thomas, Frank, Jake, Anthony, Anna-Mae Crifasi, and Virginia Rodrigue. He attended Tulane University in 1939 and 1940. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the VFW, and retired from New Orleans Public Service Inc. after 36 years of service. He will be sadly missed by his entire family. Relatives and friends attended a visitation held at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Church in Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial was held. Internment with Military Honors in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens followed.
