OLPS holds DARE graduation

The fifth grade class of Our Lady of Prompt Succor held their D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 17, in the school cafeteria. The program is offered by the St. Bernard Sheriff’s office under the direction of Lt. Lisa Jackson and Deputy Darren Miller. The students learn appropriate response mechanism to saying “NO” to the pressures of using drugs and alcohol. All students received a certificate of completion for their efforts. Police Chief Jimmy Pohlmann presented, from left, Katrina Nguyen, Heather Gallo and Gabrielle Campo medals for their outstanding essays.
