Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Saturday
Mar 9th, 2012 | By admin | Category: NewsThe St. Bernard Sports Hall of Fame will conduct its 17th annual induction ceremony on Saturday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sigur Civic Center. Equestrian figure Richard “Rick” Mocklin will be the sole Hall of Fame inductee in 2012. Alice’ Dornan will be presented with the Humanitarian Award, and the Elphage Caillouette Special Recognition Award will be posthumously awarded to Ronnie Alonzo Sr. Haley Smith will be recognized as the female Amateur Athlete of the Year, and Rhett Lee Pritchard and Andre Dorsey will both be recognized as the male Amateur Athletes of the Year.
Tickets for the event are $40/person. The cost of each ticket includes dinner, beer and wine. A cash bar will be open for all other beverages. Former New Orleans Saint Michael “Beer Man” Lewis and New Orleans Saints ticket manager Mike Stanfield are tentatively scheduled to be the guest speakers at the event. The St. Bernard Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that recognizes exceptional athletes and sports figures from St. Bernard Parish and raises money to support local athletic programs.
