The Barracuda is back on the hunt

The Buccaneer Villa North Swim and Tennis Club is asking for help re-establishing its Barracuda summer league swim team this summer.

The effort to get the Barracudas off the starting blocks and back in the water will be spearheaded by Luke Morin. Morin, originally from Denver, swam through college at the University of Colorado and has five years of swim coaching experience. He currently teaches at Trist Middle School through the “Teach For America” program.

Boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, are eligible to participate and compete. Participants do not need to be experienced swimmers to join; the only requirement is that the swimmer can swim one length of the pool by themselves. Participants do not need to be a member of the Buccaneer Villa North Swim and Tennis Club to join the team.

The Barracuda summer league teaches vital beginning, intermediate and advanced swimming skills to swimmers of all ability levels.

Practices will begin May 17 after school and in the mornings after the completion of the school year. Competition will run from the beginning of June through the middle of July. The season is coming up soon, so please contact Jamie at 214-0821 or email bvnstc@bvnstc.com today if you think your child may be interested in joining. We’ll see you at the pool!
