• Claudette Staiger Ponstein was crowned Empress XXVI of the Krewe of Gladiators. The coronation party was held at the Jackson Barracks Officers Club in October. Ponstein is the wife of Charles Ponstein, parish president, and they have three children, Jeff (21), Neil (18) and Sadie (14).
