Let’s get this straight. Hunter Biden owes $1.4 million in back taxes and has owed this for a number of years. He failed to report taxes from 20162019. The prosecutors and Biden defense tried to cut a deal, which the federal government agreed to, to bury these crimes with an agreement to charge him with a simple gun crime in Delaware, the Biden’s home state. No one smelled something was amiss?

Local shrimp prices are so low because imports from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Ecuador, are forcing some shrimpers to sell at $2 to $3 per pound. How can shrimpers pay for a boat, insurance, maintenance, rising fuel costs, and a crew, and make a living at those prices? Should you trust a supplier who can make a living at those prices? What about seafood Quality? Safety? Health? Up to 85 percent of the seafood in the US is imported.

Book Banning in Louisiana

Is there a widespread effort here in Louisiana to ban certain books? As many of you know, I published books, and am an avid reader. In all my years living here in the Bayou state, I can’t remember any effort to control what books are available in our local libraries. But this has now changed.

Nunez Paramedic Program Adds Associate Degree, Renews Accreditation

Students in the Paramedic program at Nunez Community College have a new degree option beginning with the Spring 2024 semester. Nunez now offers an Associate of Applied Science – Emergency Medical Services Paramedic degree following a year-long process to establish the credential, which requires 61 credit hours to complete.

Christmas Crafts at the St. Bernard Parish Library

Just as Santa’s elves are busy making Christmas gifts, St. Bernard Parish Library kids are going to be busy making Christmas crafts when they come to the library’s annual Christmas Craft Open House on Thursday, December 21, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Several make and take holiday crafts will be available and all materials will be provided. While the crafts are meant to be stress-free, parents may need to assist younger children. All ages are welcome to attend this free program taking place at the library’s main location, 2600 Palmisano Blvd., in Chalmette.
